How the resume builder works
FaangPrep's resume builder is made for software engineering applications. Upload the resume you already have and it becomes a master profile, which you then tailor to each job description you apply to.

Upload the resume you already have
PDF or DOCX, up to 10 MB. It is parsed into editable sections (contact, summary, experience, education, projects, skills and certifications) and becomes your master resume.

Tailor it to a job description
Paste one or more job descriptions and choose how far the AI may go: Light Polish fixes grammar and flow, Keyword Optimization works in the posting's keywords, and Full Tailoring rewrites more deeply. Every change is shown as a diff you approve, and the tailored copy is saved separately, so the master resume is never overwritten.

The job-description match panel in the editor lists the keywords from the posting your resume already contains and the ones it is missing.

- Will my resume get past an ATS?
- The templates are text-based single- and two-column layouts without complex graphics, which applicant tracking systems parse reliably. No tool can guarantee a pass, because every company configures its ATS differently; what you control is a readable layout and the job description's own keywords, and the builder helps with both.
- What does AI tailoring change?
- It rewrites your resume against the job description, from light grammar fixes to a full rewrite depending on the mode you pick. You review every edit as a diff before it is saved, and your master resume stays as it was.
- Is the resume builder free?
- The keyword check at the top of this page is free and needs no account. With a free account you can upload your master resume, download it, tailor one resume and use 3 AI generations.
